Biography

Artist since 2020, it was in Ecuador that my path first took shape. During an opportunity at the El Utero cultural centre, I discovered the world of art through Pierre Durand, a Franco-Ecuadorian sculptor. He taught me the rudiments of working with steel. Back to France, I continued to experiment and let my creativity flow with passion. I then spent three years on Reunion Island, a land of syncretisms and welcoming of many cultures. Here I developed my identity as a sculptor, asserted my artistic personality and created my first series. I also discovered photoraphy, which quickly became a new channel for artistic expression. After several projects in southern Africa, I now live in Paris. My work is figurative and political, akin to art brut. They are mainly created materials that I collect from my surroundings. I like to to rework them in such a way that their original use is no longer recognisable, and transform them into fine, poetic works without losing their relevance.
I work mainly steel, but I also experiment with stone, wood, plaster and clay.

I create works that highlight contemporary societal issues. Working together or individually, I want to convey the emotions that emerge at a time as troubled as ours, when we are facing multiple crises - ecological, social and democratic. I have lived on 4 continents and have drawn on historical and sociological accounts my work naturally turns towards understanding human relationships, the dynamics of power between peoples, and what it means for me as an individual integrated into these systems. With this in mind, my research has always involved meeting the Other. In 2022, in Southern Africa, I carried out a major research project. For 3 months, I travelled 8,000 km from Kenya to South Africa via Tanzania, Malawi and Mozambique. Working with 5 local NGOs, I met around fifteen local communities impacted by climate change. Crossing magnificent landscapes, this itinerant research enabled me to  collect around 300 life stories, which are as many fragments of life as unfortunate as they are resilient. These fragments will fuel the rest of my creations and inspire me to carry out my first ecological and democratic art projects.
